Schoolwide Network Community Guidelines Schoolwide Network Is for the Community Our hope for the Schoolwide Network is to create an online environment where quality reigns and mediocrity hides, giving both the adults and students who use our site a clear, well-lit path toward academic achievement. So whether you want to help your students catch up or make sure your elementary staff is applying practiced methods for improving reading and writing skills, the Schoolwide Network is the perfect place for you. As a group of educators we understand both the academic and political pressures surrounding the educational process and believe that results-based guidance is essential to providing something useful to the world. So while other video education sites provide a portal, the Schoolwide Network seeks to cultivate a well-built passageway from point of entry to end result, giving our audience the foundations they need to achieve practical and more sustainable goals. Here are some common-sense guidelines we respectfully request that you abide by: § Schoolwide Network is not for pornography or any sexually explicit content in any format or media whatsoever. § Do not post content involving animal abuse, drug abuse, under-age drinking and smoking, or bomb making. § Graphic or gratuitous violence is not allowed. If your content shows someone being physically hurt, attacked, or humiliated, or other such content, don't post it. § Respect copyrights. Only upload content that you created, developed, or that you are authorized to use. § Obtain permission. If your content features images or voices of others, including but not limited to colleagues, students and/or parents, you must obtain their consent before posting. § We encourage free speech and an individual’s right to express his or her point of view, but we do not permit hate speech (speech that attacks or demeans a person or group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, and/or sexual orientation) or vulgar, offensive, or obscene language. § Predatory behavior, stalking, threats, harassment, intimidation, invasion of privacy, revealing other people’s personal information, and inciting others to commit violent acts or to violate the Terms of Use are taken very seriously and will not be tolerated. Anyone who engages in or attempts to engage in any of these acts will be permanently banned from Schoolwide Network. § Do not create misleading descriptions, tags, titles, or thumbnails in order to increase the number of users who view any content you may have uploaded. Please take these guidelines seriously, understand them, and respect the spirit in which they were created. These Guidelines Are Strictly Enforced Schoolwide Network staff reviews all content submitted to determine its appropriateness for our viewers and users and to ensure that it does not violate our Community Guidelines. Accounts are penalized for violating any of the Community Guidelines, and serious or repeated violations will result in termination of the account.
